NFL Power Rankings after Week 12

NFL Power RankingsIn the last few weeks the better NFL teams have separated themselves from the rest of the pack. Here are current NFL power rankings of the top 5 teams after this weekend's games:

1. New England Patriots (11-0)
Still perfect after 11 games and on pace to shatter the NFL single season scoring record for a team, need I say more?

2. Dallas Cowboys (10-1)
The combination of Tony Romo to Terrell Owens appears to be unstoppable. Their only loss so far is to the undefeated Patriots.

3. Green Bay Packers (10-1)
The resurgence of quarterback Brett Favre and an overachieving young defense has them leading the NFC North Division by 4 games and a virtual lock to make the playoffs.

4. Indianapolis Colts (9-2)
They have been real good considering they have lost their best defensive player in Dwight Freeney and have been without receiver Marvin Harrison for most of the season with a mysterious knee injury.

5. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-3)
They have been a little inconsistent, but when they are on they look like the team that won the Super Bowl just a few years ago. With Ben Roethlisberger back in form after a rough year last year, this is a team everyone should look our for when the playoffs get here.

The Best Fantasy Football Rookies from the 2007 NFL Draft

NFL DraftAdrian Peterson and Marshawn Lynch are hands down the best fantasy football rookies from the 2007 NFL draft. Rookies generally do not have much of an impact in fantasy football, but these 2 stud running backs have definitely raised the bar.

Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings is currently leading the NFL in rushing yards, and has had 2 games with over 200 yards. His 296 yard 3 TD performance against the San Diego Chargers set a new NFL record for rushing yards in a game.

Marshawn Lynch of the Buffalo Bills has not been a slouch either; he is currently ninth in the NFL in rushing yards with 751 and has scored 6 TDs. These are especially impressive numbers considering the Bills are one of the lowest scoring offenses in the league.

This Year's Thanksgiving Day NFL Schedule Features a Great Match-up between Green Bay and Detroit

NFL scheduleThanksgiving Day is always a great day to relax, eat a ridiculous amount of food and watch some football. This year's Thanksgiving Day NFL schedule features a great match-up between NFC North Division rivals Green Bay (9-1) and Detroit (6-4).

The Packers go into Detroit with the leagues second best record, and with a win they can all but wrap up the division title. This is a must win for Detroit if they want to keep any hope of winning the division alive. A loss by the Lions would put them in the precarious position of playing the rest of the season hoping for a wild card spot in the playoffs.

The Cream Is Really Rising To the Top At This Point in the NFL Schedule

NFL ScheduleWith nearly two thirds of this years NFL schedule completed, the cream is really rising to the top. The New England Patriots are still undefeated at 10-0 and appear to be in a class of their own. They have virtually blown out every team they have played en route to 10 straight wins to start the season.

After the Patriots, we have the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers at 9-1. These are both really solid teams being overshadowed by what the Patriots have accomplished. The Cowboys only loss was to the Patriots and with rising star Tony Romo throwing to Terrell Owens, they look like the team to beat in the NFC.

However, you can't overlook the resurrected Brett Favre and the Packers because so far they have proven they can play with anybody. Favre provides the veteran leadership which can get this young team to the Super Bowl.

NFL News: Brett Favre Passes another Milestone

NFL NewsToday, the Green Bay Packers routed the Minnesota Vikings 34-0, sending the Packers to a division leading 8-1 record while basically knocking the Vikings out of playoff contention and putting them at 3-6.

In the win, Green Bay's future hall of fame quarterback Brett Favre joined Dan Marino as the only quarterbacks in NFL history to throw for 60,000 yards. Farve delivered a dominant performance for the home crowd as he completed 33 of 46 passes for 351 yards and three touchdowns.

At this point the Packers look like the team to beat in the weak NFC North division, and also a team that should contend for the NFC Championship.

The 2 Best NFL Teams Face Off This Week

NFL teamsOne of the most greatly anticipated regular season games in recent memory takes place today, when the New England Patriots (8-0) travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts (7-0) in the leagues' first match up of undefeated NFL teams this late into a season.

"Two undefeated teams, and obviously with the history between these teams, it makes for a great match up," Tom Brady said. "You know anytime you play the Colts it's always an exciting game for all the players and all the coaches. You know when you're playing them, you're playing the best."

"I really think that's why you're in the league, for games like this," Colts coach Tony Dungy said.

This showdown features two future NFL Hall of Fame quarterbacks in Peyton Manning and Tom Brady; as well as 2 future NFL Hall of Fame wide receivers in Randy Moss and Marvin Harrison. Indianapolis has won in the last 3 meetings, the latest being a 38-34 victory in last season's AFC title game before going on to win the Super Bowl.
