Five NFL Teams Vying For Last Two Playoff Slots

With the last week of the regular season on tap this weekend the drama is definitely brewing, as five NFL teams are vying for the remaining two playoff slots. Only one spot remains in both the NFC and AFC as the first five seeds are already determined.

Let's start in the AFC which has the Cleveland Browns and the Tennessee Titans battling for the elusive final playoff slot. Tennessee is in the driver's seat and will get in with a win. They can also get in if they tie and Cleveland loses. Cleveland can get in with a win and a Tennessee tie or a tie and a Tennessee tie.

Over in the NFC, there are 3 teams still alive. The Washington Redskins are in the best position and will get in with a win. Washington can also get in with a tie and a Minnesota loss or tie. They will also get in if both Minnesota and New Orleans lose. Minnesota will get in with a win and a Washington loss or tie. They will also get in if they tie and Washington loses. In the worst spot is New Orleans who must win, but also need Minnesota and Washington to lose.

The Top Offensive Prospects for Next Years NFL Draft

With the NFL regular season coming to a close in the next few weeks, next years NFL draft is all the fans of the cellar dwellers have to look forward to. The NFL draft is still four months away, and a lot will happen in those four months to influence who goes where.

This draft appears to be real heavy with defensive players, as most of the projected first rounds picks come from that side of the ball. However, here is a list of the five best offensive players to be picked in the first round of next year's NFL draft:

Here Come the NFL Football Playoffs

With 3 weeks remaining in the NFL football regular season, the playoff teams are starting to come into focus. It comes as no surprise that the still undefeated New England Patriots at a perfect 13-0 have not only clinched a playoff berth, but have also clinched their division and a first round bye. The only other AFC team to clinch a playoff berth is the Indianapolis Colts at 11-2, so there are 4 more playoff spots to be decided in the AFC.

However, the NFC is basically all wrapped up because Dallas (12-1), Green Bay (11-2), and Seattle (9-4) have clinched their divisions. The other spots are essentially lined up unless something drastic was to happen, as the NY Giants and Tampa Bay are both one win away from securing a berth. There will be a shootout for that last NFC spot, which will probably come down to the last Sunday of the regular season.

Huge Game Tonight On the NFL Network between the Bears and Redskins

Tonight's huge game on the NFL Network between the Chicago Bears and the Washington Redskins features 2 teams virtually on the brink of being eliminated from the playoffs.

Both teams come into tonight's game even at 5-7, and both are only 1 game behind the 3 teams tied for the NFC's last playoff spot.

This is a win or go home game for both teams as even the winner will still have only a very marginal chance of making the playoffs.

This is disappointing to me considering I am a Bears fan and contrary to what Dennis Green (former coach of the Arizona Cardinals) said last year, this year the Bears are NOT who we thought they were!
