The 2 Best NFL Teams Put On Quite a Show in Last Nights Super Bowl

NFL teamsIt was incredible to watch the 2 best NFL teams go to battle in last nights Super Bowl game. I would like to congratulate the New York Giants on their Super Bowl victory and also thank them for winning me 100 bucks. I decided at the last minute to take the Giants getting 12 1/2 points, thinking they would cover the spread but probably lose.

That is one of the best Super Bowls in recent memory and was just incredible to watch. Eli Manning really elevated his status to one of the elite quarterbacks in the league and now has as many Super Bowl rings as his brother Peyton. According to the Nielson ratings on the game, this was the 2nd most watched TV event in history, only second to the last episode of MASH back in the 1980s.

Only 4 NFL Teams Left Vying For the Coveted Super Bowl Trophy

NFL TeamsAfter a weekend of incredible games, only 4 NFL teams are left vying for the coveted Super Bowl trophy. There were 2 big upsets as New York went to Dallas and beat the Cowboys for a trip to Lambeau to face the hot Packers, and surprisingly San Diego upset defending Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis and now must get through the undefeated Patriots.

Luckily, I went 3 for 4 on my picks for these games with the only loss coming when New England failed to cover the 13 1/2 point spread over Jacksonville, winning by only 11 points. Check back later this week, when I make my Conference Championship picks.

Five NFL Teams Vying For Last Two Playoff Slots

NFL TeamsWith the last week of the regular season on tap this weekend the drama is definitely brewing, as five NFL teams are vying for the remaining two playoff slots. Only one spot remains in both the NFC and AFC as the first five seeds are already determined.

Let's start in the AFC which has the Cleveland Browns and the Tennessee Titans battling for the elusive final playoff slot. Tennessee is in the driver's seat and will get in with a win. They can also get in if they tie and Cleveland loses. Cleveland can get in with a win and a Tennessee tie or a tie and a Tennessee tie.

Over in the NFC, there are 3 teams still alive. The Washington Redskins are in the best position and will get in with a win. Washington can also get in with a tie and a Minnesota loss or tie. They will also get in if both Minnesota and New Orleans lose. Minnesota will get in with a win and a Washington loss or tie. They will also get in if they tie and Washington loses. In the worst spot is New Orleans who must win, but also need Minnesota and Washington to lose.

The 2 Best NFL Teams Face Off This Week

NFL teamsOne of the most greatly anticipated regular season games in recent memory takes place today, when the New England Patriots (8-0) travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts (7-0) in the leagues' first match up of undefeated NFL teams this late into a season.

"Two undefeated teams, and obviously with the history between these teams, it makes for a great match up," Tom Brady said. "You know anytime you play the Colts it's always an exciting game for all the players and all the coaches. You know when you're playing them, you're playing the best."

"I really think that's why you're in the league, for games like this," Colts coach Tony Dungy said.

This showdown features two future NFL Hall of Fame quarterbacks in Peyton Manning and Tom Brady; as well as 2 future NFL Hall of Fame wide receivers in Randy Moss and Marvin Harrison. Indianapolis has won in the last 3 meetings, the latest being a 38-34 victory in last season's AFC title game before going on to win the Super Bowl.
